We’re pleased to have recently restocked our rooms with new issues of some of our favorite periodicals for perusal by our overnight guests lodged upstairs. Check out these two L&E favorites from Chicago.

Mash Tun

A “paean to craft beer’, this biannual journal follows the ‘aesthetics’ and ‘pleasures’ of craft beer and its relationship with culture, food and society.

Proximity is a magazine dedicated to contemporary art and culture, one that seeks to “amplify discourse on local and global art ecologies.”  Issue 009, is centered upon ‘Grassroots Planning and Placemaking Projects’, a “collective suggestion” for a cultural plan for the City of Chicago.  Issue 010, also available, focuses on Mutualisms, and explores the “ways in which networks of friendship and artistic collaboration can be used as a model for curating.”
