Longman & Eagle is pleased to announce that Matthew Kerney has been appointed Chef de Cuisine.
A native of Plainfield, Kerney began working at restaurants as a busboy, quickly working his way into the kitchen. In Chicago, he got his start at Ambria, then spent two years at Schwa, and took a Sous and eventual Executive Chef position at the Hubbard Inn thereafter.
Kerney joined the Longman team in August of 2013, brought in as our Executive Sous Chef. Executive Chef and partner Jared Wentworth, impressed, has now elevated him to the Chef de Cuisine position.
Kerney is a great fit for Longman and has had immediate impact – the dishes he has brought to the menu are already among our most popular. His ‘Fried Chicken Roulade’, for example, has been a huge hit with guests both old and new.
We’re all very excited to have him aboard, and are very much looking forward to his continued accomplishments and success.
