The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?
Every fall, limited release whiskies start making their way to our shelves and each week has us waiting like kids on Christmas Eve, eager with anticipation to see what’ll arrive next.
The last few weeks have brought us an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and 21 year old whiskey. The Barrel Proof has been a particular favorite of mine, as well as the other bartenders, and we are extremely excited to see it back in stock.
We received a healthy allotment of the 7th edition of Parker’s Heritage Collection, Promise of Hope, which we are very excited about. Parker Beam, the master distiller at Heaven Hill puts out a new Heritage edition every year and this year – with Parker Beam having been diagnosed with ALS – the proceeds from every bottle will go to ALS research.
Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is here and I personally think this year’s is one of the best I’ve had, with its incredible vanilla nose and sweet caramel finish.
This week we received the incredibly popular Antique Collection from Buffalo Trace. This includes George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Eagle Rare 17 year, Thomas Handy Rye, and Sazerac Rye 18 year. These are some of the most highly recognized and awarded american whiskies each year they are released. Past year’s releases of Thomas Handy and William Larue Weller were ranked 1 and 2 in Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible for the past 2 years.
Although this is just a small sample of the crazy amount of whiskey we’ve got coming in, there’s still much more to come. (Our Pappy allotments should be coming sometime in mid to late November). We think you should make it in soon before many of these bottles disappear!
