Pastry Chef


A native of Cartago, Colombia, Juan Gutierrez moved to Chicago to attend the French Pastry School. From there, Juan spent time in the kitchen of Pumproom, then moved to Fifty/50 Group.

There, he was pastry sous chef at both Portsmith and Steadfast, where he worked under James Beard nominee Christopher Teixeira, mastering pastry technique and style. Juan’s style blends adventurous concepts with classic techniques, resulting in dishes that are a true trip for the senses.
